Today, I would like to discuss the process of obtaining bond approvals.
First step: Contact my office and apply for the bond.
We limit the data request to the specific documents needed, such as the court order, petition, or motion containing the basic financial information. We limit the back-and-forth between the attorney and their client so that we can have one succinct email that provides us with what we need.
Most bond brokers require an application to start the process. Applications provide fundamental information such as:
- Client’s name
- The attorney
- Where the bond is filed
- The type of bond requested.
When you speak to somebody who knows precisely what they are doing, they will gather that information from your initial conversation.
Applying for the Bond:
A highly specialized bond broker can reduce the time it takes to apply for and obtain the bond by several days, as there is less back-and-forth with the bonding agency and/or the client’s attorney. So, the benefit of calling Pedersen & Sons Surety Bond Agency, Inc., is calling us, and we know exactly what you need. We can give you a range of costs and an idea of what you need to obtain the bond so that you can spend less time focusing on getting a surety bond and more time on handling your case.
- We can inform the attorney whether full financial disclosure is needed or if a credit check is necessary.
- We can give a range of pricing.
- We can give an overview of the underwriting process and the expectations of your client.
Recently, an attorney reached out to us with questions on the bonding process. He was on a call with a company representative and had to contact 10 different departments, but he couldn’t get an answer as to:
- Where his bond was;
- What he needed to do to move forward;
- How he could obtain the bond quickly so he could proceed with this case.
This went on for 10 days.
We had an initial call, after which the attorney sent a bond application with the court order. We had the bond approved the same day and issued the following day.
Dealing with a company where one-size-fits-all, instead of using a specialist, turned out to be much more costly and less efficient.
Instead of wasting precious time and putting unneeded stress on yourself, give Pedersen & Sons a call. We’ll guide you through the bonding process, ensuring you’re on the right path so you can focus on your case.
