I am pleased to announce that I recently had the opportunity to co-author an article for the New York Law Journal with Jacqueline Greenberg Vogt, Esq. of Mandelbaum Salsburg, P.C. Attorney Vogt is a client, for whom I have issued bonds in the past.
The subject of the article, which was published April 7th, is titled “Navigating Surety Performance and Payment Bonds: What To Know.” The article discusses what real estate developments and projects need when a bond is required, how to obtain a bond, and what to do when there is a claim on a bond. We also discuss takeover agreements, when a surety takes over a project for the contractor, the benefits when a project goes south, and the cons of a takeover agreement. We looked to provide information on what’s needed and what to do next.
This was a great opportunity for my office in terms of recognition. The New York Law Journal is a prestigious publication and helps to get our name out to the public. Most subscribers to the publication are lawyers and law professionals, many of whom may be in need of a bond from time to time but non-lawyers can subscribe and set up an account.
I look forward to writing or co-authoring future articles. If any of my clients have an idea for an article or would like to co-author an article with me, I would be more than happy to discuss it with them. Please give me a call, or send me an email if you want to set up a time to speak about doing this.
